Errore nel caricamento del firmware ipw2100

Ciao a tutti,
stamattina, all'avvio del mio portatile, la scheda wireless ipw2100 ha deciso di rifiutare il suo firmware (e ovviamente non funzionava)! ma il file del firmware è corretto e si trova al suo posto. dopo aver scaricato e caricato un paio di volte il modulo, la scheda wifi ha ripreso a lavorare normalmente. la cosa strana è che non ho fatto nessun aggiornamento di driver o sistema operativo in questi giorni, e questo errore si è verificato di punto in bianco.
da windows funziona senza problemi.
