Funzione risparmio energetico

Salve a tutti!
Il mio portatile è un ASUS A6VC.HO notato una strana anomalia,come da oggetto.
Praticamente non appare in basso a destra,nel kicker,l'icona della batteria.Di conseguenza noto che il mio portatile,non ha attiva la funzione risparmi energetico.
SE vado in Centro di controllo>Controllo energia>Batteria portatile e mi dice:

Il tuo computer ha un'installazione ACPI parziale; probabilmente ACPI è stato abilitato, ma alcune delle sotto-opzioni no. Devi abilitare almeno "AC Adaptor" e "Control Method Battery" e ricompilare il kernel.
Questa frase mi appare a tutte e 4 le linguette.
Allora lancio xconfig e vado nel modulo Search:
1)scrivo come parola chiave "Battery" e mi trova la voce battery con il cerchietto nel quadrato (significa modulo vero?)
2)scrivo "AC" e mi trova la voce AC ADAPTER sempre segnata con il crechietto nel quadrato.
Ora non so come interpretare il messaggio d'errore:eppure AC e Battery sono installati.
Come mai fa mi questo messaggio?Come posso risolvere?

HO provato a dare modprobe acpi e mi ha caricato (credo...)il modulo,ma poi ho fatto:
rmmod acpi e mi da come errore:

Ho il medesimo problema sul mio notebook HP Compaq 6715.
Ho la 12 installata dai CDrom e non ho ancora ricompilato il kernel che quindi è quello predefinito
.
L'utility di kde mi da esattamente lo stesso tipo di messaggio
Lanciando poi da console lsmod | grep acpi' non ottengo nessun risultato.
Provando ad intallarlo 'modprobe acpi' ho il seguente messaggio di errore:
FATAL/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device
Quindi di fatto acpi non si installa...

Se non hai problemi particolari a ricompilare potresti usare queste configurazioni, che non sono altro tutte built-in e non modulo, altrimenti di tutte queste voci che hai come modulo fare modprobe in rc.modules.

Ooohh finalmente qualcosa è cambiato!
Praticamente è una cosa stupidissima.
Basta caricare tutti e 3 i moduli:
modprobe battery
modprobe ac
modprobe acpi
Non bisogna fare assolutamente nient'altro!!!

Ora non ho il portatile con me, appena arrivo a casa provo, ma il mio problema è proprio nel caricamento del modulo acpi che mi da l'errore già riportato sopra.
Nessuna idea?

Forse il tuo problema è che acpi non è compilato come modulo.. Prova a ricontrollare nel kernel config.

Il kernel ufficiale di Pat ha tutto l'occorrente. Per il risparmio energetico non ho avuto bisogno di ricompilazioni.
Se serve, io all'avvio faccio caricare questi moduli relativi all'acpi (tra l'altro indicati in vari post qui su slacky):

/sbin/modprobe button
/sbin/modprobe container
/sbin/modprobe fan
/sbin/modprobe processor
/sbin/modprobe thermal
/sbin/modprobe video
Anch'io avevo lo stesso problema e avevo notato quei messaggi nel centro di controllo di kde. Ma questo perché se i moduli non sono caricati, il centro di controllo ritiene che non ci sia in assoluto il supporto acpi. Se fosse statico allora lo vedrebbe perché caricato insieme al kernel.
Vedrai che una volta attivati i moduli non troverai più quel messaggio.
Ormai è un luogo comune quello di dover ricompilare il kernel per queste cose.
In più uso i moduli per il cpu scaling.

Comunque caricando i moduli AC, Battery, Button, Container, Processor, fan, thermal e video uno dopo l'altro, la gestione energetica funziona, ho lo stato della batteria e il controllo della ventola e della luminosità del video (a livello di effetti visibili) ma...
...
dopo qualche minuto si blocca il puntatore del mouse e immediatamente dopo lo schermo diventa nero. Non lavora più l'hard disk e non reagisce a nessuna combinazione di tasti. Solo la luce verde del power-on rimane accesa.
Ho provato a caricarne solo qualcuno, cercando di arrivare al modulo responsabile per esclusione ma niente da fare, sembra quasi che uno vale l'altro per tale scopo!
