ciao dopo aver provato ad aggiornare gnome alla 2.8.1 mi ritrovo che quando lancio X ho questo output:

grazie io ci ho provato, ma per compilarle richiede altre librerie tipo "libXext" in versione maggiore di 3.0 che sullo stesso sito e su altri non trovo, sai se esistono delle versioni pacchettizzate per slack di queste librerie?

non c´è proprio verso, grazie comunque per l´interessamento ma è proprio da li che ho scaricato gnome 2.8 e le librerie non le forniscono.

Gnome è un grosso minestrone... per far funzionare una cosa ha bisogno di molte librerie spesso vecchie e difficili da installare, peccato è un gran WM<br>

!!!!! FINALMENTE sono riuscito a sistemare il problema Xlib e gnome parte, ma sarebbe troppo bello se non ci fossero problemi.
<BR>Si avvia senza splash, senza pannello (barra), senza icone e quando lancio qualsiasi comando che tratti queste cose (temi, sfondo, ecc..) mi dice che metacity potrebbe non essere installato oppure gconf potrebbe non essere configurato correttamente.

<BR>Metacity è OK, ma come faccio a sapere come va configurato gconf?
<BR>io ho provato ad avviare gconf-editor ma vedo solo stringhe per me senza senso.

Come avete notato i packages ufficiali di Gnome2.8 tardano ad

<BR>that GNOME is going in a direction that doesn´t fit well with Slackware´s

<BR>removing it would be the best thing for Slackware as it´s become a
