I have to be patient and to begin a slow download... Well, I really prefer to have them in the slackware/current section but that is something we have to wait for

i installed kde 3.4.1. do u know if there are great differencies between that version and the new one? i mean something like: konqueror loads at least 5 SECONDS BEFORE u want it to be strted! (perhaps a bit exagerating?)

I don't know why you are using 3.4.1 Slackware 10.2 has 3.4.2
I can not tell you about any differences between 3.4.1 and 3.4.3 just because I am still downloading... And I am not using it yet. But I don't expect too much. I think it will be like between 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 - just some bug fixes. But it is an useful change anyway

no, all the releases changing only the third number in the version string do not carry big changes by definition, they're mainly bugfixes.

the next big changes will be in kde 3.5, which should be released quite soon anyway.

I'm waiting for kde 3.5. Now I'm using kde 3.4.2 that is very good,but why we speak english?

I have one question... again

Are these packages the same as Slackware packages?

I mean I know that 3.4.3 is not in /current (yet). And I
know that I can use these packages on my Slackware 10.2
system. My question is... What is the procedure here? I
mean Patrick just takes these packages, tests them and releases
them in /current if they are OK? Or he's making his own
packages from source?
And if he do so, which ones are better? The ones made by
KDE itself or the ones made by Slackware? I would prefer
packages made by Slackware, but 10.2 was released so soon.
And the changes are related with the security only. So I
suppose I won't see KDE 3.4.3 in /current soon.

Obviously, they are not the same.
Linuxpackages' tgz are compiled by volountary people,
while Slackware packages are made all by Volkerding.
As I told you in a previous post, I don't like so much
many of LinuxPackages' tgz, because almost always
they miss the SlackBuild, so that
you don't know the flag used to compile them.

Well, samiel, thanks for the answer... But that was not my question. I was not asking about the linuxpackages.net... I don't like those packages.
I was asking specially for the new KDE 3.4.3 and the packages on their FTP site...
Those on the link of my first post in this topic. They are .tgz packages made for Slackware...
And I was asking are they the same like the ones in Slackware...
For example - 10.2 has KDE 3.4.2.
So these KDE 3.4.2 packages - are they built from source or Patrick just takes those tgz packages from KDE and tests them before releasing them...
With other words: Is it the same if I use KDE from kde.org and from slackware.com?

the fact is that i'm not using kde anymore: just using fluxbox + rox (asdesktop icons and file manager) + fbpanel + gkrellm. and, believe me, the sensation is wonderfull: powerfull and fast, and real versatile.

ho provato a fare l'upgrade dalla 3.4.2 alla 3.4.3 prendendo tutti i .tgz e usando upgradepkg ma il file startkde pare essere assente in questi pacchetti e di conseguenza non parte..

Excuse me, but I don't speak Italian... Are you trying to say that there are problems with these .tgz files?
That is what I am asking... Are they the same as the ones which Slackware uses?
Or Patrick is building KDE from source...

Patrick builds them from source.
If I've somr free time, I'll try
to build them, as in the past
for other releases, waiting
for ufficial packages
