Client Cisco VPN & kernel > 2.6.18

Ciao a tutti,
posto questa semplice guida per chi utilizza il Client Cisco VPN e vuole passare alla versione del kernel maggiore della 2.6.18.

Utilizzavo regolarmente il client Cisco VPN

vpnclient-linux-4.6.02.0030-k9.tar.gz

con il kernel 2.6.18. Ebbene, passando alla versione 2.6.21.5 (della Slackware 12) l'installazione non andava a buon fine riportando i seguenti errori dei quali ne riporto una porzione del log:

* The VPN service will be started AUTOMATICALLY at boot time.
* Kernel source from "/lib/modules/2.6.21.5/build" will be used to build the module.

Bene, navigando qua e la ho trovato il seguente al cui autore vanno i miei complimenti http://www.tuxx-home.at/cmt.php?article ... index.html nel quale ho trovato la procedura d'aggiornamento del client CISCO e del quale vi sintetizzo i passi:

Dunque, innanzitutto non sapevo dell'esistenza delle pach per tale client. Seguendo il post ho scaricato il clien Cisco VPN pi recente

e la relativa patch http://www.cnio.es/es/servicios/intrane ... les/linux/ rispetto al mio kernel (2.6.21.5)

Anche se la versione del kernel e' la 2.6.21.5 la patch per la 2.6.22 va bene lo stesso. Quindi :
