[RISOLTO] X non si avvia da utente normale

Regole del forum

Ciao a tutti!
Allora: ho aggiornato il sistema dalla versione 13 alla 13.1 (kernel 2.6.33.4-smp) e tutto sembra essere andato per il meglio.
Il sistema si carica senza problemi fino alla schermata di login testuale.
Arrivato a questo punto la prima volta che ho tentato di far partire X mi dava un paio di errori nel file xorg.conf relativi all'istruzione obsoleta di Rgbpath e all'errato caricamento dei driver nvidia.
Leggendo i Changes&Hints ho visto che la versione di Xorg installata sulla 13.1 non necessita dello xorg.conf. Allora me ne sono fatto un backup e poi l'ho cancellato.
Così facendo da root X si avvia perfettamente. Mentre da utente normale (che uso di solito) mi dà i seguenti errori:
- Non carica il modulo fbdev (inesistente).
- xkbcomp non riesce a chiudere /tmp/server-0.xkm
- XKB non riesce a compilare keymap (questo dovrebbe essere l'errore fatale che impedisce l'avvio di X).
Sembrerebbe che non riesca a inizializzare la tastiera.
Non sapendo cosa fare ho letto su Changes&Hints la parte riguardante le tastiere non americane, così ho copiato il file /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/10-keymap.fdi in /etc/hal/fdi/policy. Non sapendo nè che modifiche apportare nè dove, ho provato a lasciarlo invariato e la situazione non è cambiata.
Sapete suggerirmi qualcosa?
EDIT: mi dice anche che potrebbe essere settaggio mancante o non corretto di xkeyboard-config.

Prova a creare uno xorg.conf per la Slackware 13.1 utilizzando da root:
verrà creato un file chiamato xorg.conf.new che modificherai e sposterai in /etc/X11/

Continua a verificarsi lo stesso errore riguardante la tastiera...

Beh innanzi tutto vedo errori nei path dei caratteri....dice che alcune directory specificate nello xorg.conf nella directory /usr/share/fonts non esistono, ma è un problema relativo. Il problema reale del tuo xorg.conf cerdo sia questoboh ha scritto:Grazie per la risposta!

No però potrebbe essere che manca un .xinitrc nella tua home

Manca la sezione ServerFlags che da la possibilità a xorg.conf di sostituirsi ad HAL nel rilevamento delle periferiche di input e poi manca la riga Modes dove che il Depth a 24 e infine è meglio non lasciare spazi tra le Options e i driver utilizzati (mi riferisco alla tastiera

Allora molto tempo fa sulla 13 ho installato i driver 173.14.20 e lo xorg.conf relativo è:
E' molto lungo.
Questo file non funzionava più con la 13.1, allora l'ho rimosso.
L'ultimo che ti ho postato (creato con Xorg -configure), mostra l'uso dei driver 173.14.25 che ho installato stamattina.

Questo file non funzionava più con la 13.1, allora l'ho rimosso.
L'ultimo che ti ho postato (creato con Xorg -configure), mostra l'uso dei driver 173.14.25 che ho installato stamattina.

Ho risolto!!
C'era un problema di memoria!
In pratica per fare l'aggiornamento ho messo tutti i pacchetti slackware in /opt/slackware, una volta cancellati quelli tutto funziona a meraviglia!
Mi veniva dato un errore visibile solo per un secondo circa in cui ho letto che c'era un problema di memoria in /tmp.
La domanda ora è: /opt cosa centra con /tmp?
